Phibsoo Wildlife Sanctuary (278 sq km; 107 sq miles), Sakten Wildlife Sanctuary (650 sq km; 251 sq miles), Khaling Wildlife Sanctuary (273 sq km; 105 sq miles), and Torsa Strict Nature Reserve (561 sq km; 217 sq miles)
Although comprehensive biodiversity information is yet to be gathered, these wildlife preserves are believed to harbor a wealth of bird species based on informal observations. The Phibsoo Wildlife Sanctuary, encompassing forests in subtropical regions, is reputed to be a habitat for a variety of mammals. The Khaling Wildlife Sanctuary, which covers similar territory in eastern Bhutan, and the Sakten Wildlife Sanctuary, encompassing a range of environments from warm broadleaf forests to alpine zones, are also expected to be rich in wildlife.
